Brand Financial Training branding updates

Brand Financial Training - New logo shown on a white background.

Background

Brand Financial Training approached Mode=Create after a recommendation. They wanted to evolve their existing brand assets and expand their colour palette.

The business was also suffering from a little logo confusion due to having two logos.

Brand Financial Training's original limited colour palette.
Old Brand Financial Training logo with book elements and tagline.
Old Brand Financial Training logo - simplified.
Original Brand Financial Training logos and colour palette.
Brand Financial Training new logo on different backgrounds.

Process

Our fact find revealed that the team at Brand Financial Training liked the typeface of their logo however, they didn’t like the ‘book’ mark and they wanted one logo to use with authority. The team were also happy with their existing colour palette however, found it somewhat restricting and therefore wanted to expand it.

Mode=Create set about simplifying the logo. We retained the existing typeface however, moved away from the slab serif version and so reduced the amount of serifs. We also removed the literal reference to training material ‘the book’ and introduced a simple triangular mark to reference the advancement of one of their customers moving through their training and progressing their career.

When looking at the colour palette, we recommended introducing two new colours. This would provide more options moving forward to create accents in printed and digital layouts. We ensured that the new colours provided enough contrast for accessibility when used digitally and presented some simple wireframe layouts to provide context to the enhanced colour palette.

Result

The new brand assets help Brand Financial Training simplify their material and provide clarity to the customer. Together we’ve built the sound foundations for a strong brand moving forward.

It was a genuine pleasure to work with Gavin. He is organised, responsive and clearly very talented when it comes to design. He held our hand through the entire journey, answering any questions we had along the way and working brilliantly with our web developer. We are extremely happy with our new logo, web design, social media imagery and product imagery and will certainly be contacting Gavin for our future design requirements.
